PDM Studio 2026
May 18, 2026

PDM Studio 2026 is now available

The major release brings new features that standardize processes, make responsibilities more transparent, and save valuable time. This allows teams to work even more efficiently and always maintain full control over their data. Discover the most important new features in our overview.

Change Management: Predefined ECR & ECO Workflows

For higher quality management requirements, predefined and fixed workflows are now available. Typical processes such as ECR (Engineering Change Request) and ECO (Engineering Change Order) can be structured clearly and consistently.
An ECO process can be designed as a one or two step approval. For example, a prototype may first receive preliminary approval. After successful testing, it is transferred to final approval.
Within the workflow, responsible persons can be assigned and automatic notifications can be triggered to ensure transparency and timely execution.

Collaboration Across Divisions

With the new “Divisions” feature, projects can be clearly separated and flexibly organized within a shared database. Whether departments, subsidiaries, multiple locations, corporate groups, or external service providers: Each unit works in a structured environment and only accesses the data intended for them.
Sensitive data remains protected and duplicate storage is avoided. Content can be shared or restricted selectively, and permissions such as read or write access can be assigned individually.

Enhanced AutoCAD Integration

AutoCAD files can be transferred directly from AutoCAD to PDM Studio, where they can be updated and revised. Likewise, AutoCAD components can be opened and revised directly from within PDM Studio, ensuring a seamless workflow between design and data management.

Additional minor improvements include a modernized graphical user interface and increased overall system performance.
